Placenta
The placenta is a temporary organ that develops in the uterus during pregnancy. It connects the baby to the mother’s blood supply, supplies oxygen, nutrients, and removes waste products from the child's blood. It also produces hormones that support pregnancy and help protect the baby from infections. The health and position of the placenta are important for a safe pregnancy and delivery.
