"Healthy pregnancy starts with the right awareness".
I experienced placenta previa during my second pregnancy. Before I go any further, I want to emphasize that having placenta previa is not necessarily dangerous, as long as you are aware of the condition and take proper care of yourself and your baby. Placenta previa is a condition that demands careful monitoring, as it can lead to bleeding during pregnancy. While it often results in a planned C-section, with proper care and medical supervision, both mother and baby can remain safe and healthy.
Placenta previa is a complication during pregnancy in which the placenta partially or completely covers the opening of the uterus (the cervix). According to the Mayo Clinic, the placenta is an organ that develops in the uterus during pregnancy, typically attaching to the top or side of the uterus. However, in placenta previa, it attaches lower down, sometimes covering the cervix either partially or completely. This condition can cause significant bleeding before, during, or after delivery.
In many cases, changes in the uterus and placenta during pregnancy can cause the condition to resolve on its own. However, if it persists, a cesarean section (C-section) is usually required for delivery.
